Exchange Setup with CLI

Configuring your Exchange

To configure and setup your new exchange for the first time, use the command below.

hollaex setup

This will bring up an interaction form that asks you to input basic information about your exchange. On completion, your exchange will be up and running. Each inquiry will have a default value enclosed in parentheses located to its right. If you wish to go with the default value, hit enter; otherwise, type in a value of your choosing.

After completing the form, the values you provided will be stored in the files configmap and secret, located in the settings directory of your HollaEx Kit folder.

Example of Interaction Form:

Please fill up the interaction form to launch your own exchange.

Your exchange will run locally even if the values below this section (AWS, Vault, FreshDesk values) are empty. However, your locally run exchange will not have the complete functionality of a fully enabled exchange (crypto asset management, email and sms services, storing user uploaded images, etc). For production, these values are required. You can always manually enter these values in the /settings directory at a later time. Click here to learn more about additional configuration.

Additional Configuration (Optional)

HollaEx Kit stores all the settings values above for running the exchange in the /settings folder.

There are two files in the /settings folder: configmap and secret.

There are additional configurations for setting up your exchange where you can set them manually and you can always change the values you set via hollaex setup manually in the /settings folder. Please visit the Advanced setup section for more details.

Adding a Currency/Trading Pair

After the exchange setup is finished, you will be asked if you would like to add your own currencies and trading pairs. You can choose to skip or proceed to add them. HollaEx-CLI has toolbox methods for adding currencies and adding pairs so you may choose to do this at a later time. For more information on adding a new currency or trading pair, go to our customization page.
